Officine Panerai presents the brand-new Radiomire 8 days Ceramica watch at the SIHH 2011. As the name suggests, the new Panerai watch is made of a high tech material- ceramic. And it contains a hand-winding movement – P.2002/3 calibre which is independently designed, developed and manufactured by Panerai.

In recent years, Ceramic have been widely used in watchmaking industry with its cool appearance, its adorable hardness and great resistance to high temperature, scratches and corrosion. The Panerai Radiomire 8 days Ceramica watch uses a very special synthetic ceramic called zirconium oxide (ZrO2. This ceramic is obtained through a process of isostatic pressure on the material in powder form, which results in a particularly uniform, even appearance.

The P.2002/3 calibre by Panerai features an 8-day power reserve thanks to three large spring barrels. On the dial, there is a linear power reserve indicator. The movement has a date complication which is displayed at 3 o’clock. And it is equipped with a user-friendly device that allows the hour hand to be adjusted quickly while the minute hand suffers no any influence.

Panerai gives the Radiomir 8 Days Ceramica an all black look. The 45mm case in ceramic, the dial featuring iconic sandwich construction and the buffalo leather strap are all in black color. The strap buckle is crafted from titanium and coated with diamond-like carbon for better scratch-resistance. The rear of the watch goes well with the appearance with a smoked sapphire crystal window allowing the movement to be admired

A layer of special ecru Super-LumiNova is used on all elements of the dial: he large figures and hour markers, the hands and the small seconds dial at 9 o’clock, the date window and the linear, which ensures the watch legibility all day round.

Only 500 pieces of Radiomir 8 Days Ceramica – 45 mm will be made.
